Vincent Parks Personal Trainer

I am a Portland based personal trainer certified through the American Academy of Personal Training. I have over 15 years of professional training experience and 20 years of building and exploring the potential of my own body. I am passionate and committed to creating personalized and specific programs that will motivate and enhance my clients' lives.

Currently I am training clients virtually, at local parks, and in the comfort of their own homes. I work with people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and am confident I can help you achieve your goals. Reiki and body work sessions available.

My 2015 goal was to run an ultra-marathon. I had run a few marathons but the trails and longer distances called my name. I hired a professional running coach, and worked with Vincent to continue to build the strength and agility I needed to conquer more technical terrain for 30, 40 or 50 miles at a time. Over a 7 month period I got stronger, more technically adept at running, and stumbled through a series of injuries that are part and parcel of an endurance runner’s experience. Through each twisted ankle, pulled hip muscle and the onset of plantar fasciitis just three weeks before my 50 mile run, Vincent worked with me to manage and strengthen those parts of my body that needed repair. His combination of balance work, specific strengthening exercises, body work, and stretching got me to the starting line of the Mt. Hood 50 race. And, I finished without injury or further damage!

I was honored to have Vincent and his family at the finish line of my first 50K run! He is like family to us.

I met Vincent while working at the same gym together. I wanted to take my fitness to the next level. I've always struggled with my fitness goals due to accountability. He definitely held me accountable. When my body started to drop the fat, and results were apparent, Vincent and I decided that I would compete in a Men's physique competition. During that 16 weeks, he was there every step of the way, providing a structured program, meal plan, guidance and much needed support through the tough times. Vincent is excellent at what he does, he is knowledgeable and will push you past your comfort zone in a healthy way.

Vincent is one of those trainers that is as excited about your getting in shape as you are. His holistic approach to health starts with his laser focus during the first assessment. From then on he guides you through milestones that see you getting results in as little as 2 weeks. That was my case when I came to see him.

I hired a trainer because I was discouraged by the same routines at the gym, seeing no results and actually beginning to lose muscle mass. Once I started working with Vincent, I became excited about the improvements that were coming from the work we did together. He really pays attention to form and added warm-up and stretch exercises to the session that improved my balance, posture and strength. Combine that to his encouraging bedside manner and you have a winner. With Vincent the proof is in the results I have obtained.

I first met Vinnie during a period of my life where I was having some pretty physically and emotionally debilitating health issues. I was recovering from major surgery and I had lost all faith in my body. I was convinced I was never going to feel healthy again. I was angry and confused. Vinnie taught me how to care for my body. During the time I spent working with him I discovered a deeper understanding of how my body worked and how to treat it in a way that would help me achieve optimal health. I grew physically and emotionally stronger. I fell in love with fitness and nutrition. So much so that I am now pursuing a career in the industry myself. Vinnie’s approach to the whole body and mind is why I love his work. It is not all about physical appearance (although he addresses that!) but about the client becoming the healthiest version of themselves possible.
